Research
Organizing for Health conducts research to track the impact of organizing campaigns, distance learning, and trainings on community leadership capacity, care delivery and, as possible, health, care and cost outcomes. The research team also helps develop innovative training and tools to equip leaders to organize in health, as well as case studies to support continued learning.
Campaign Coaching
Organizing for Health’s campaign coaching supports organizations interested in learning how to use organizing to achieve change. Organizing for Health helps develop capacity to organize and practice interdependent leadership to transform health and health care.
Training and Webinars
With various health sector constituencies interested in organizing as a theory of change, as well as in developing the interdependent leadership practices that will enable them to achieve meaningful and measurable outcomes, Organizing for Health regularly conducts leadership trainings and webinars. To date, the project team has worked with such organizations as the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the IHI Open School, Harvard Vanguard and the Colorado Foundation for Medical Care.
Distance Learning Course
The 14-week Organizing for Health distance learning course offers health stakeholders a unique opportunity to engage deeply with core ideas of organizing and leadership as applied to health care system reform. Organizing for Health’s expert faculty will teach, coach, and support the development of leadership among participant teams of 3 to 5 members committed to achieving clear, measurable outcomes around better health, better care and lower costs.
Healthy South Carolina
In Columbia, South Carolina, Organizing for Health is bringing leaders together to engage patients and citizens in redefining health and health care in their community. Healthy Columbia seeks to create a model for other communities interested in pursuing a community organizing approach to change, developing a research-based understanding of the conditions under which community leadership teams achieve measureable and sustainable objectives, and fostering the learning and tools that will lead to greater reach and impact. The campaign is rapidly gaining momentum and will spread to additional communities in the state.

On February 1-2, 2012, Organizing for Health will continue the Healthy South Carolina campaign with a new round of training in Columbia, South Carolina.
